SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP UPDATE

Spousal Sponsorship Update Questionnaire
Dear Client,

As it has now been several months since we filed your initial spousal application/since we submitted the last update, it is now time to start thinking about the first update/next update. You will also receive a separate email providing you with a timeline by which we will file this update and the deadline to submit the documentation and information to us.

As you know, Spousal Sponsorship applications are discretionary applications meaning that an officer has the right to approve or to refuse the application based on their discretion. As IRCC receives thousands of applications every month, by submitting regular updates to your application, we are demonstrating to the officer that we are committed in getting this application approved and addressing any issues related to the file. We want the immigration officer to be convinced of the love and commitment in your relationship and approve the application because not doing so could have a negative impact on your couple and the community around you.

For this reason, we have developed a process to file updates to the application regularly in order to demonstrate the continuation of the relationship and all the new changes that have taken place in the life of your couple. A lot can happen in 6 months, and we want to show all of these steps through a cover letter that we will prepare including additional and updated documentation.

In some cases, there might not be so many changes and updates – this is ok – however we want to try our best to show updates as we have seen that this can make a significant positive impact on the processing application. Spousal sponsorship applications can sometimes take a very long to process and its important for the officer to see that we are committed and serious about this process and place in front of them positive evidence which they are obligated to consider legally.

Here is a list of questions in order for us to understand what has changed in your couple and your life since we last communicated with IRCC. Please answer with as much detail as possible to that we can strategize and prepare the update for you.

Provide as much detail as possible in the boxes and if the question does not apply to you, indicate “Not Applicable” or “No Changes”.
