Humanitarian and Compassionate – Update

H&C Update

Dear Client,

As it has now several months since we filed your initial H&C application/since we submitted the last update, it is now time to start thinking about the first update/next update. In a separate email we will submit to you the specific timeline by which you need to submit information and documentation to us and the date by which we will file the update.

As you know, H&C applications are discretionary applications meaning that an officer has the right to approve or to refuse the application based on their discretion. As IRCC receives thousands of applications every month, by submitting regular updates to your application, we are demonstrating to the officer that we are committed in getting this application approved and we are showing to IRCC that your level of establishment in Canada and the hardship that you would face if forced to leave Canada would be absolutely devastating for you and your community.

For this reason, we have developed a process to file updates to the application regularly in order to demonstrate the continued establishment and all the new changes that have taken place in your life. A lot can happen in 6 months, and we want to show all of these steps through a cover letter that we will prepare including additional and updated documentation.

In some cases, there might not be so many changes and updates – this is ok – however we want to try our best to show updates as we have seen that this can make a significant positive impact on the processing application. H&C applications can sometimes take a very long to process and its important for the officer to see that we are committed and serious about this process and place in front of them positive evidence which they are obligated to consider legally.

Here is a list of questions in order for us to see what changes has happened in your life since we last communicated with IRCC. Please answer with as much detail as possible to that we can strategize and prepare the update for you.

Provide as much detail as possible in the boxes and if the question does not apply to you, indicate “Not Applicable” or “No Changes”.
