Residency Obligation Appeal

If a refusal is rendered on a travel document or a permanent resident card renewal, an appeal can be filed at the Immigration Appeal Division within the required timelines.

The Board Member will review humanitarian and compassionate grounds to determine if PR status can be maintained reviewing particularly the reasons why the permanent resident of Canada was forced to remain outside of Canada and was not able to meet the physical residency requirement in Canada.
