I recently became a Permanent Resident and my sister who is a citizen of India and is studying abroad in the UK, wants to visit me for a few weeks during her holidays. I submitted a visit visa permit application but it was refused. What could I have done differently?
An application for a Visitor Visa permit is actually quite difficult, and it is important to show with extensive documents and explanations that your sister has an intention to come to Canada solely as a visitor. Because she is studying abroad it is important to show her establishment and her intention to return to the UK and not India. A carefully worded invitation letter (or statutory declaration), extensive supporting documents, and a detailed submission letter can often make the difference.
